Preparations for Needle Insertion Before Shipping of Circular Knitting Machines

The key to preparing the needles before shipping a large circular knitting machine is to ensure that the needles are installed accurately and in good condition, so as to avoid problems such as broken or missing needles during transportation or subsequent installation, which would directly affect the customer's production efficiency.

I. Basic Inspection Before Needle Insertion

Confirm the condition of the cylinder and needle slot: Check the cylinder for metal filings, oil, or debris, and thoroughly clean it with compressed air. Also check the needle slot for deformation or burrs, ensuring the needle can be inserted smoothly without jamming.

Verify needle model and quantity: Strictly adhere to order requirements, confirming the model, specifications, and heel height of the inserted needles (e.g., latch needles, compound needles) match the circular knitting machine to avoid using the wrong model. Count the total number of needles in advance to ensure they match the number in the cylinder and needle slots.

Inspect the quality of the needles themselves: Inspect each needle for cracks, worn needle tips, broken latches, or insufficient elasticity. Replace any defective needles immediately to prevent yarn leakage or breakage after installation.

II. Operating Procedures During Needle Insertion

Control the insertion force and angle: Hold the needle vertically and slowly insert it into the needle slot, avoiding excessive force that could deform the needle slot or break the needle heel. After insertion, gently pull the needle to confirm it is secure in the needle slot and can slide freely.

Insert needles evenly and sequentially: Follow the principle of inserting needles in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to avoid skipping needles and prevent uneven force on the cylinder. Every 50-100 needles during insertion, manually rotate the cylinder half a turn to check if the needles rotate smoothly and synchronously.

Handling needles in special positions: For needles at both ends of the cylinder and corresponding positions of the needle position sensor, additionally confirm the installation depth to ensure it is consistent with other needles at the same height, avoiding signal abnormalities or uneven fabric density during subsequent debugging.

III. Finishing and Protection after Needle Insertion

Comprehensive Inspection and Fixing: After insertion, manually rotate the cylinder 1-2 turns to observe whether all needles are free from jamming or tilting; for needles at the cylinder edge, gently fix them with special fixing rings or tape to prevent displacement during transportation.

Cleaning and Rust Prevention: Wipe the needle surface with a clean cotton cloth to remove fingerprints and residual oil. Then apply a small amount of rust-preventive oil (select industrial rust-preventive oil that will not affect subsequent production) to the contact area between the needle groove and the needle to prevent rusting during transportation due to moisture.

Labeling and Recording: Attach a "Needle Inserted" label to the outside of the syringe, indicating the needle model, quantity, and insertion date; at the same time, record the insertion inspection results in the shipping document for the customer's convenience in checking after receiving the goods.
